About the Exhibition

The new format of “tandem exhibitions” opens up new opportunities to intensify European art exchange, make it more sustainable and bring it even closer to the public in Upper Bavaria by expanding the concept of the district's international art partnerships. As a special continuation of the REMIX series, one artist from abroad and one artist from Upper Bavaria who had previously participated in the residency program will be invited again.

Working together on the exhibition

The basic idea is to create the conditions for getting to know each other professionally by working on a joint exhibition and to encourage a long-term active exchange of ideas and joint work between the participants. Newly conceived art education projects enable greater direct participation for the wider regional public.

The exhibiting artists live and work in the Schafhof's residential studios for a maximum of four weeks, giving them the opportunity to exchange ideas and work on the project together. The stay takes place outside the regular residency program and is directly before and during the construction and opening of the exhibition. During this time, they will also be available for on-site and digital encounters with the public.
